Sometimes, a silly cat really does help

I know memes are not going to fix all your problems. I am unfurrtunately aware that laughing at a cat falling asleep in a bowl will not pay your bills, answer your emails, or magically make the sun come back out. But, I also think we sometimes underestimate the value of a tiny mood shift.
Sometimes, your brain just needs a break from being serious. You laugh once, your shoulders drop a little, and suddenly life feels a little less heavy. That matters, especially during the colder and darker parts of th year when it gets way to easy to stay inside, isolate, and slowly become purrmanently fused with your couch.
Cats are especially good at breaking that spell because they are naturally ridiculous - they spend half their lives acting like elegant, ferocious predators and the other half getting startled by cucumbers, falling off the arms of your couch, or screaming because they saw the bottom of their food bowl (meaning that they obviously have no food left and are on the brink of starvation). It's hard to stay miserable when you are looking at that, whether it's in real life, or in meme form!

Consider this your fresh step into a better mood

That's the whole purrpose of these feline funnies - to help you feel better despite the world's troubles surrounding you. They can't solve any major problems, nor can they make you see sunshine and rainbows when it's actually cloudy with a chance of meatballs. But, they can give you a few minutes of joy while the rain keeps raining and the wind keeps howling while you sit inside and laugh at cats being wonderfully unserious.
We can't control the weather forecast, but we can control whether we spend the entire gloomy day staring dramatically out the window like a sad Victorian ghost or not. You can make your own happiness, and for me purrsonally, it usually starts with cats, memes, and the knowledge that everything in life is temporary. It's time to take your fresh step into some giggles and glee. The weather may be miserable, but we don't have to be.
